About Thank a Hippie

“I must study politics and war, that my sons may have the liberty to study mathematics and philosophy, natural history and naval architecture, in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, tapestry, and porcelain.” – John Adams

Mission:

Thank a Hippie (TAH) will detail many accomplishments of the Baby Boomer generation which often go unheralded.

Technology and societal advancements permeate our daily lives, yet we often don’t take the time or energy to understand what led up to the present day. This is due to both ignorance and political correctness. Many still look at the world through a partisan lens – preferring to manipulate facts so that they fit their world view. Life is much more complex than that – and this site will explore many connections that our dear readers may not be aware of.

We will also function as a clearinghouse for relevant links which both prove – and add to – the history of the fascinating times we boomers grew up in.

Curators:

TAH is not an attempt to convince anyone of anything. Rather we see ourselves as curators of recent history. A number of contributors will be adding content, links, editorial and other informations. If you have an interest or insider outlook on this subject and wish to share, please use the contact form below.

Founder:

This web site was started by Craig S. Issod – a writer and amateur historian. There is no political or other agenda other than the perceived need to bring many links, stories and opinions together in one place.

Format:

This is not a discussion board or forum. The sole intent is to bring together links, stories, opinions and philosophy based upon our site Title and Mission. If you wish to counter this point of view, we would suggest ranting on many of the quasi-political sites around the internet and/or starting your own blog called “hateahippie” or similar.

  1. We definitely made this country a “kinder and gentler” place than it was or would have been without us.
